In space, no-one can hear you flush.
Deep Space Turtle Chase is an adventure and puzzle game that uses Minecraft’s engine as a creative “blank slate” — members and friends of The Voxel Box have spent more than three months shaping it into something extraordinary, and we think you’ll agree… it was totally worth the wait!
The map is available for both single player and online co-op with up to four players. You’re able to fully explore the entire space setting, solve challenging puzzles set throughout space, and experience some of the finest Minecraft architecture you’ve ever seen.
Here’s a sneak peek:
What started as a cool idea from CaptainSparklez for a space themed Minecraft adventure map has evolved into a whole ‘nother beast. Using the client mod Matmos the game now has original music by Aitren and custom sounds, taking it to a whole new level of immersion with an awesomely spacey ambiance.
Combine that with an all-star cast of Minecraft geeks doing voice narration, customized soundscapes that will take you into orbit, PhD-level redstone engineering, and the collective talent of artists that call The Voxel Box home — and you’ve got something that isn’t just an adventure map.
It’s something special, and to experience it as intended you can’t just download it and stick it in your Minecraft folder. We’ve made it super easy to get up and running though!
All you need is a fresh Minecraft .jar, and the installer will do the rest.
Special thanks to Minecraft mod developers that helped make it possible: Risugami, xTiming, xIGBClutchIx, UltraMoogleMan, Hurricaaane, and crazyputje — and a huge thank you to MehStrongBadMeh for putting it all together!
You’re just eight simple steps away from a painless game install:
1: Backup your Minecraft data folder!
2: Download the latest version below and extract the folder somewhere.
3: Download MCNostalgia and extract to the folder.
4: Open Minecraft, go to options, then force update to get a clean Minecraft.jar
5: Following the steps on the MCNostagia page Downgrade your Minecraft version to Minecraft Beta 1.8.1.
6: Use the .exe (for windows) or .jar (for Linux/Mac) in the Deep Space Turtle Chase installer to modify your client
7: Open Minecraft again, select the Deep Space Turtle Chase texture pack
8: Go to Single Player, select the map, and enjoy!
everything you need to play now!
if you want to play with friends.
If you absolutely cannot get the installer to work, you can download the vanilla version of Deep Space Turtle Chase… but it won’t be nearly as cool. Includes map and texture pack only — no music, no custom sounds, and no voice narration — and you install it as you would any other custom map.
updated for 1.0.0!
just the map and textures.
All of us worked really hard to make the map super fun, challenging, and guaranteed to be unlike anything you’ve ever seen — so if you’d like to say thanks, one of the best ways you can do so is by helping us spread the word.
Your kind words and appreciation always puts a big ‘ol smile on Ridgedog’s face, so let your friends on G+, Facebook, and Twitter know about the hours of enjoyment our map has given you. If you’re feeling really appreciative, feel free to donate as well!
We’re on too! Subscribe to our channel for exclusive behind-the-scenes footage, updates to this and other maps, as well as a ton of other awesome Minecraft stuff.
If you happen to run into any bugs, have any problems getting it to work, or just want to say thanks in person be sure to let us know.
We hope you have as much fun playing the game as we did making it!
Thank you so much!
I couldn’t download Minecraft Nostalgia (their website’s having issues, I guess) or otherwise get my hands on beta 1.8.1, so I had to fiddle with the new launcher, various .rar’s, and the mod files… It was a mess. And even then, I still couldn’t get all the sound mods working. So I basically played the vanilla version. Saddest day ;_;
Anyway, the map was GREAT. Even though it tried to force me into jumpy-puzzles (emphasis on “tried”; no power in the ‘verse can make me do jumpy puzzles). The story was really interesting, and I’d like to know where it’s headed… I feel like I missed out on some stuff, what with mods disagreeing, but I really enjoyed it
how da hell u work it without minecraft freezing please help
I don’t know how to download an adventure map at all and neither do my friends or family. I really need a video from CaptainSparklez or Volxelbox showing how. I am playing on a Mac by the way!!!
One question what computer do you use?
Mac or Win?
Each time I try to run any one of the Installers I get this error message: “A Java exception has occurred”
Can you please help me? I tried literally EVERYTHING to get it to work but it’s still not working…
I got that exact same message…
Oh and I cant find the texture pack…
Hopefully at some point they will make a part 2 to this epic map
Think they just hinted at that
Can you download ONLY the texture pack?
If you only want the texturepack, download our Deep Space pack. The one for DSTC was slightly modified version of that: http://voxelwiki.com/minecraft/Texture_Packs
can you upload a vid of how to install this? I’m having trouble installing it.
Can i get this on the technic launcher cause my minecraft wont work and also does it work on Mac OS
that is a good idea since now 1.4.7 texture packs and older do not work in 1.5 and higher thanks
Why is the vanilla in .rar
.rar is simply a file compressor, kind of like .zip
